Ashley Qian is ecstatic and beyond thrilled to be serving as Ontario DECA’s Chapter Development Officer for the 2022-2023 school year. Ashley is a Grade 12 student at Donald A Wilson Secondary School in Whitby, she gives major credits to her school’s DECA chapter for fostering her growing interest in business. Since joining DECA in Grade 9, Ashley has experienced the joys of growing and leading her chapter to becoming not just a club but a close knit community. From serving as Co-President in her local chapter to now serving as a Provincial Officer, Ashley hopes to make each DECA member across Ontario feel a sense of achievement and belonging.
Outside of DECA, Ashley enjoys exploring new initiatives and helping out with anything she can in her school community. She’s involved in her school’s Environment Club, Trivia team, Stage Production crew and was a photographer for her school’s newspaper. She also served as a Communications Head for her Student Council along with working as Finance Head for her school chapter’s MEDlife. Ashley has a strong passion for entrepreneurship as a co-founder of both a non-profit and start up both focused on connecting students with mentors. Her start-up (PearPals) aimed to pair incoming international students with Canadian students. Outside of academia, Ashley can be found playing countless hours of the Sims 4, watching British TV shows and learning new recipes to cook.
Ashley is incredibly excited to connect with each Ontario DECA member and bring the level of excitement up higher than ever this year! If you have any questions, concerns, suggestions or new ideas, don’t hesitate to reach out to her through social media or by sending an email at ashley@deca.ca.
