Lainey Lin is a Grade 12 IBDP student at St. Robert CHS and is honoured and grateful to serve as Media Coordinator for Ontario DECA for the 2026–2027 year. Since joining DECA in Grade 9, Lainey has been an active and dedicated member of her chapter, qualifying for ICDC in three consecutive years and earning recognition as a Top 5 International Finalist. Alongside her competitive experience, Lainey has served as a Chapter Trainer, helping members develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in competition. Through DECA, she has developed invaluable leadership skills, formed lifelong friendships, and discovered a community that has profoundly shaped her high school experience.
Beyond DECA, Lainey dedicates her time to making a positive difference through her involvement in school and the community. Driven by her passion for entrepreneurship and technology, she has earned recognition at national case competitions for developing innovative solutions addressing challenges ranging from menstrual health accessibility to digital burnout. As a proud member of the Markham Mayor’s Youth Council, she helps organize city-wide events and charitable initiatives that strengthen community engagement and support local causes across Markham. She is also involved with The Pink Stairs, supporting a global mission to empower girls through mentorship, leadership development, and career-focused programming. Within her school, Lainey is an active member of the senior girls’ volleyball team, where she has developed resilience and teamwork both on and off the court.
In her free time, Lainey enjoys expressing her creativity through painting, trying new drinks, going on long walks, and fitting in the occasional nap whenever her schedule allows.
Lainey is thrilled to serve on Team 48 and looks forward to helping create an unforgettable year for members across Ontario. If you have any questions or would like to connect, feel free to reach out through Instagram (@laineyl_), Linkedin (@laineylin) or by email at lainey@deca.ca.
