Joshua Brown, President

Joshua Brown is a grade 12 student at Ancaster High School, and is beyond thrilled to serve Ontario DECA as President this year!  Since 9th grade, DECA has provided Josh with unforgettable learning experiences which he aims to share with Ontario DECA members. Last year, Josh served as Events Coordinator, on the Provincial Student Executive, and placed top 10 in his event at the DECA International Career Development Conference. Josh’s ultimate goal this 45th anniversary year is to ensure that Ontario DECA is accessible to all students across the province. He aims to provide open workshops and programming, while leading charitable initiatives at the provincial level that can be extended to the chapter level.

Apart from DECA, Josh is committed to learning and serving his community. Josh also works as Executive Director of the Federation of Canadian Secondary Students (FCSS-FESC). In this role, Josh leads a team of more than 40 employees with a goal to empower students to take on social justice initiatives in their communities. He also works as a researcher with the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University, studying the influences and impacts of generative artificial intelligence in marketing. Finally, Josh stays involved at school as a student council member, writer for the Royal Gazette newspaper, and Ski Team member.

That said, you can often find Josh skiing the slopes, biking around the city, or hanging out with his friends! He also loves meeting new people. Connect via email at josh@deca.ca.
